The Municipality of Thessaloniki participated, as an official member of UNESCO\u2019s Creative Cities Network of Gastronomy, in the World Gastronomy Conference Songland 2025, which took place from August 29 to 31, 2025, in Thailand.<\/div>\n
Thessaloniki, renowned for its centuries-old gastronomic tradition and its dynamic contemporary cuisine, had the opportunity to present to an international audience the richness and diversity of its local gastronomy, which combines multicultural influences with creative modern approaches.<\/div>\n
The Deputy Mayor of Culture, Tourism Development and Intermunicipal Cooperation, Vasilis Gakis, stated: \u201cThrough its participation in UNESCO\u2019s global network, Thessaloniki highlights its unique gastronomic footprint and strengthens its international collaborations. Our presence at Songland 2025 is yet another proof that our city can stand proudly on the world stage, bringing together tradition, innovation, and creativity, while at the same time enhancing the city\u2019s tourism promotion.\u201d<\/div>\n
As part of the conference, Thessaloniki\u2019s delegation\u2014composed of the Head of the Tourism Department, Vasilis Vasileiadis, and the city\u2019s ambassador chef, Mr. Apostolos Altanis\u2014showcased:<\/div>\n
